As you know right now I am pissed. I will try not to rush in my effort to recreate my fantabulous post that just got erased. I also have just learned...save to draft when typing and linking and toggling for a long time without lunch.
Let's see. Color on Color progress. I have finished sections 1 - 16 (am just about to start section 12) I have run out of some of the colors, which I am going out to purchase this afternoon...but overall I am excited to see the progress and see the end in sight. I hope to get it almost done by next Friday when mom comes into town, and I can get her help with blocking.
I took a break from the Color on Color on 8/31 to start Tube Toporini to wear on my 30th Birthday bash night out. I got some gorgous Karabella Aurora 8 yarn, which I love, love, love. Can't wait to knit with it again. The 2nd pic isn't the best, but it's the only one for the night out where you can see the tank.
Take a peek at my Birthday treats from Chuck and Rory:
Next was a trip to the Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival. We had a great time looking at all the yarns, the sheep and watching the dog trials. Couldn't leave these 3 skeins of chunky weight 100% wool tweed from Briar Rose Fibers there though.
I think they will make an awesome sweater for Rory. I was thinking the same Corregated Assymetrical V-Neck I am making from Loop-d-loop.
I had been stressing for a while about what to knit for my sister-in-law's baby shower. With gender up in the air, I just couldn't focus on a project. In the end I decided to put together a box of all of Rory's favorites, and knit this cute little Bubby. Rory had fun modelling with him. (*Stashbuster...I used some Rowan wool/cotton from the stash...too bad I will have to make 10 more to finish the skein)
So last night when I ran out of yarn knitting Section 12 on my Color on Color. I decided to just go ahead and cast on for Ruffles from Scarf Style. This will be a gift for someone with an October birthday. I purchased the suggested Classic Elite Premiere, and it is really soft. I think this will be a fun, easy knit.
Finally, I have to say I have had a great week, really productive and busy. Last week, I was experiencing one of those blue periods...but it feels so good to have gotten some things accomplished with my knitting, the garden, and with Rory. This afternoon, I will also be heading to the post office to ship off my Sockapal2za Socks. I hope my sock pal likes them. I've been thinking about that Koigu ever since I finished.
Now that wasn't so bad....if only I posted more often I won't have to update 3 weeks worth of knitting everytime I got on. Here's to that. And just a note...this is my 50th post. (Not counting the 23 on Everything Rory) I have been on Typepad for 1 year, it's been fun, but I wish I could get into a more regular habit of posting. I mean, we moved the computer into the kitchen for more easier access for God's sake.
